Our Story: Growing Wellness, One Season at a Time

Since 2005, the Downtown Milford Farmers Market has been a cornerstone of community connection. Founded by four visionary women from the Downtown Milford Business Association and supported by the CT State Department of Agriculture and farmer Sabrina Santoro, the market has grown from a humble beginning at 54 River Street to a thriving weekly destination at Wasson Field. Each week, nearly 800 visitors gather to support local agriculture, nourish their families, and strengthen the local economy.

    What makes us truly one of a kind? We’re CT’s seasonal farmers market that centers on inspiring the youngest generations as the heart of our mission.

    At the Downtown Milford Farmers Market, we believe that access to fresh, local food and meaningful experiences should belong to everyone. Here, curiosity is nurtured in the young, wisdom is honored in our elders, and families connect through every shared moment — whether they’ve lived in Milford for years or are visiting from a neighboring town.

  • Children’s Market: This is a space where play, learning, and community collide. Kids can dive into imaginative play and act out their favorite stories, while many of our vendors’ children take the lead at family booths to greet customers and handle sales. We bring character photo ops, face painters, and storytellers to spark curiosity. It’s an agricultural environment designed to help children grow into lifelong market lovers and create lasting memories throughout the season.

    Piglet’s Clubs (Run by the Giggling Pig of Milford): A 20-week agricultural program for kids. Each week, they earn tokens to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables while learning about farming and healthy eating habits through hands-on activities.

  • The Downtown Milford Farmers Market is held every Saturday until October 17 from 8:30am to 12:30pm at Wasson Field, 108 W Main Street, Milford, CT (adjacent to the Parsons Center).

    Important: We will not have a market date on August 15, we will see you at the Fair on the Half Shell.

  • We offer free on-site parking at the market, with plenty of additional street parking available nearby. Taking the train? We’re just a short, three-block stroll from the Metro-North train station.

  • Some of our farmers take SNAP, WIC, and Senior vouchers to ensure fresh, local food is available to all.

  • We are looking for local partners who share our passion for fresh food, sustainable agriculture, and the power of community gathering. Your sponsorship does more than just support a program—it helps us bring more interactive activities to life, sustains our daily operations, and ensures the market remains a vibrant, accessible space for every generation.
